THE FRAYER

Big Blue isn't just another apartment building in Fairbanks, Alaska. This aging edifice can communicate with its residents and read their thoughts. Corrine, the widowed, love-starved landlady, occupies the penthouse. Lonnie, a part-time musician, runs a liquor store on the first floor and hides his gay love life. Jasmina operates the coffee shop across the hall and sex is always on her private menu. Under Big Blue’s watchful eye, they live as a caring, quirky family, each with a secret. Everything, including the beloved building, starts to fall apart when a smooth-talking Southerner with sinister powers, rolls into town behind the wheel of a flashy Cadillac and moves in.

Her stories relentlessly linked the girl's boyfriend, Josh, to the crime--right up to the day he committed suicide. Twenty years later, Julie returns to Fairbanks just in time to hear about a serial killer's confession to the crime she covered so long ago. With Josh exonerated, guilt pursues Julia and so does a stalker intent on killing her.
